View Full Version : is there absorbant slide in insert for AFO's

My Sarah's feet are very sweaty, her feet look like she's been in the tub too
long after wearing her AFO.s I have bought an insert that an absorbable cusion. I'm going to cut it to it to fit inside the AFO. I'll avoid the foam toes part though.

Has anyone else tried this.

You could try the SmartKnit AFO socks that wick away moisture or just an AFO liner...

I used Kiwi brand terrycloth covered insert, called Freshin's. It really helped. Her socks were damp, but not soaked like usual. The insert top was damp, and the bottom of the cushion was wet. Amazing wicking action there!

I wish the insert was thinner as it is 1/8 in. thick. It may interfere with the toe extending cushion on her brace. I did trim the insert so it didn't cover the
toe cushion in the brace, but I think it'll need to be looked at. I'll call the orthosist tomorrow.

Thanks for the link Smoop. I cannot use the cover d/t the straps at the ankle, but I'll keep the link in my SB file for future reference.
