Has she seen the neurosurgeon or neurologist since the rapid head growth started? It could be a sign of worsening hydrocephalus and it may need attention. I would see a physician.

i have 2 measure her head and it hasnt grown at a rapid rate her head was also really soft at the back and around the top of her head but now its gone harder we have seen a paediatrition here in the uk and he said he wasnt worried bout her head and that it was just normal growth she seems to have a large forehead just wondered if it would stay that way or whether she,d grow into it

Kelly,
I am 32 years old with SB myleo L4/L5. I have never had a shunt and my head is just slightly larger than normal. No hydro i have been checked throughout my life. i would continue measuring but she will eventually grow into it mine stopped looking so big after about 3rd grade.

I worked in Peds for many yrs, and we had babies that their heads looked large, but didn't always measure unusually large. The dr. always asked if the large head ran in thier family. It did in some cases. If it didn't and it was > 90% they would be sent for further eval.
I've seen them grow into it also, where the proportion of head to body begins to look more normal. But it's good you are keeping an eye on it d/t risk of hydro.
Carters was huge looking when he was a baby. It is pretty 'normal' now. Yu can see pictures of him in our album

I think it's normal that your baby will
have a big head, but surely it will go
back to normal after treatments. Lucky
for your kid if her head wouldn't enlarged.
