Congratulations, Laura! When she gets started, let us know how she does and maybe you can describe the kind of therapy she's getting. I bet lots of parents of babies would be interested.

I've had the rudiments of SSI explained to me but what is CCS?

I could be wrong, but I THINK CSS is "Children's Special Services" which is yet another piece of the ridiculously complicated federal/state health system. If I'm right, it was founded in 1935 by the same legislation that created the Social Security program. It was originally called the Crippled Children's Program.

Depending on the individual state's rules, some families are eligible for services under CSS even if they exceed the income limits for other federal programs.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know if you are wrong or not but when i was very little i went to a place called Mississippi crippled children's (located in tennessee) That is where i stayed for 3 months when they were fitting me with my braces and that is where i went for a few weeks ( i think it was a total of 3 months then too) when they taught me how to walk with my walker. My mom has pictures of all of it and i remember the facility very well. Back then (late 70's "78/79" the kids stayed there and the parents got 2 hours a week to visit and since my parents were divorced they split it up where i could see each of them one hour a week. It is now closed and is an alcohol/drug rehab facility. At least that was what it was last time i went past it. I am not sure if that is the same program or not but i haven't heard "crippled children" anywhere else.

Lisa has it right!! hannah has PT twice a week and she is correct about the income part as well. Even tho we make too much for all the other programs Hannah having SB makes her eligible for CCS!

Yes i was. I have pictures from the time i was in there. Well my mom does. I was in there for 2 stays i want to say around "78" & "79". Maybe "80" at the latest. She took me there for appointments etc... If you need info or have questions for her i will be glad to pass them along. She isn't online but i know she will be more than happy to help if you would like. If you want i could probably get her to send me some pictures and i could scan them and pass them along.
