Ok guys i just had to share what just happened to me. In January i go two trafic tickets for my truck not being inspected. i had totally forgot so i deserved the tickets. Anyway i paid them end of story right WRONG!!! At noon there is a man knocking at my door it is the constable. I opened the door and the first words out of his mouth were who he was looking for (me) so i told him that it was me not knowing what the hell he wanted with me. Anyway he said Oh my god you are in a wheelchair!!! I said yeah he said but this is about a trafic ticket it can't be you. I told him it was me that i in fact had gotten the tickets and he then said but can you drive? I told him yes so then he tells me he has a WARRANT FOR MY ARREST. So now i am really confused!! I told him i paid the tickets both checks were in the same envelope if they got one they should have gotten the other. He said he didn't know but he couldn't take me in his car because i was obviously handicapped. At this time i felt it best not to mention that i can walk with crutches. So he said i had to be at the court by 1:30 to see the judge. I called my husband to take me because he informed me my driver's license had been suspended. So my husband takes off work to drive me the 30 miles to the judges office. When we get there the constable and the judge were there. He came out with the envelope to show me the check wasn't in there. Well when he did i pointed out that the check was RIGHT THERE!!!!! he looked in there and there it was. He gave his secretary the worst look and told the constable to suspend the warrant for me and they would inform the state immediatly to reinstate my driver's license. I didn't raise hell with anyone because i figured that secretary was in enough trouble judging from the look he gave her. This is a day I won't soon forget!!!

Hey, Angel -- another great story for your memoir! Seriously, the cops have enough time on their hands to go around arresting people for supposed non-payment of tickets for non-moving violations? You must live in some kind of crime-free utopia if the cops have nothing more pressing to do. Either that or your local government is seriously in need of cash.

LOL this kind of crap would only happen to me. I am under the assumption that they cost themselves more money than the actual ticket was for because someone had to pay the constable for coming out to get me and since it is about 30 miles one way and it took him about 2 hours of his time before the matter was resolved then i would say they probably paid him over 100$ I know i was going to have to pay for all that plus to reinstate my license had this actually been my fault. I got out without a penny extra! Had they tried to charge me for their mistake i would have raised some hell.
