Wow, that's pretty impressive! That would be a lot of snow in Nashville, too. We were just missed by a big storm last week, but Kentucky (just to our north) got hammered with ice.
Very nice Ollie...It's interesting to see in the second pic the green spiky plant. It reminds me of when the snow first flies here covering plants that haven't yet entered their dormant stage, usually in October. Is that a Birch tree in the upper right of the 3rd pic ? I didn't know they grew in the UK.
It's Ground Hog day here and when the critter got up this morning he saw his shadow and ran back into his den so it looks like we'll be having 6 more weeks of winter lol.The last few days around here have been great, sunny ,no wind and the temperature hovering around the freezing point,it's a nice switch from the usual crap and cold we've had since before Christmas.
Nice work and thanks for the pics Ollie!

Ive got no idea what that green plant is. Im no plant expert. But i can confirm that is a silver birch in the 3rd photo on the extreme right. My dad brought that here when my parents got the house about 25 years ago in a VW Beetle. It is now a pretty impressive height. If i remember i will get a better photo of it for you tomorrow if you are interested. It is an impressive tree.
Hi Ollie,
I was just surprised to see the Birch tree in your yard.In the Boreal Forests of our Province we've got lots and lots of them.Had one in my parents back yard when I was a kid,it got infested with "tent caterpillar" and my dad chopped the tree down so other trees in the yard wouldn't get afflicted.
I was watching the news on television last night and they had a segment about the amount of snow England has gotten this year especially yesterday. It mentioned it's the most to have fallen in 18 years and it's been the coldest in 13 years. Also that there's something called a "sickie day" (Feb.2) and there is a record amount of workers and students taking the day off moreso this year because of the snow and cold? Buses in London were canceled and big delays at the airports. While I was watching this I thought of you and the pics you posted.

The snow has caused absoloute chaos here. Buses are not running, planes are not flying. Panic buying is in fulll swing. That sounds about right that its the most snow we have had in a long time. Luckily where i am we have not had the worst of it, i am slightly to the east of the mountains that run up the middle of England so they are shielding us to a point. We have had snow on the ground all week this week, hopefully the flurry today was the last of it. Aparently in places the Gritting companies are running out of salt.
