I was wondering if anyone has ideas for converting foot peddles to hand control for battery powered riding toys. I have a foster boy that is paralyzed from the waste down and I got him a Gator John Deer Riding toy. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Yes you could replace the foot pedal with a "Hall Sensor Throttle" three wire ones are without battery gauge and the four wire ones are ones with battery gauge. They cost about 15 to 20 dollars depending where you get it...Should be easy to swap.

Depending on the specifics of the control circuitry (pulse-width modulation or variable voltage) a simple potentiometer could also be used. Or simply move whatever existing device is actuated by the pedal to a thumb operated lever taken from a bicycle gear change or similar device.

We have a little Hummer that we got from our neighbors. Believe it or not, we have friends down the street with a 9 yr old with SB. They had it converted to a hand switch.
