Is there any recommended gear for moms to have that work well for SB babies?

I liked the boppo pillow to help my daughter sit up. How old is your baby? When they get to be toddler age, it's good to have a bench that you can use for exercise. The P/T can give you ideas on which exercises to do at home.

Its impossible to say in advance what babies might need as it depends entirely on the specifics of their paralysis - and as we all know, no two are ever the same.
For specific or adapted equipment such as seating supports, excercise equipment, etc. I'd advise going with your therapist's recommendations.

I bought a bassinette that had height adjustability. I put it up high, so I didn't have to bend over to do her wound care, mudflap care, and cathing, and diaper changes. She had to stay on her belly for 3 wks.
We spent a lot of time over that bassinette. Well worth the cost.
It was the best thing, since I had C-section and bending over hurt. It had a light and vibration unit on it with a remote. It was great to lull her back to sleep , just push the remote button. and I didn't have to get up. She used it for about 4-6 months. When she could sit up, she moved to the crib. Just loved it though. It also had ability for dropping the side to attach to the bed.
It could be a cradle, if you changed the bottom wheels to flip up. It had a storage bin underneath for diapers, or what ever.
I ordered it on-line, I'd have to go look it up to see what it's name was. But there were different colors and prints, in the stores.
Brings back how excited I was, waiting for her to be born. Anxious too.
Best wishes for you and your new baby. My dd Sarah is 16mos, she's wonderful. SB /S1-3. no hydro.

I used my Ergo baby carrier a bunch during the first two years until Emmy got her first chair. It was easier for me than lugging a stroller everywhere. We still use the Ergo in places that are not accessible and Emmy is three now.

We just used all the standard baby stuff with Analise: baby swing, bouncer seat, exersaucer... and we really liked the Bumbo seat since it took her a bit longer to sit up on her own. Just be sure to watch for latex in products.. especially pacifiers and bottle nipples.

I have a 11 month old and pretty much just use all the regular baby stuff. I did have her crib raised up as high as it goes for her wound care (mudflap as they said earlier) cathing etc. Its much easier to do it like that after a c section other than that just the norm
