Thanksgiving isn't going to be a happy holiday for me this year. So much has gone wrong..I feel lonelier than ever and it seems as though holidays are just a sad reminder. To top it off I just found out my ex boyfriend, who I was with for 6 years, just got married. He was with the girl for under a year, PLUS he proposed on my birthday. So I am just bummed. I also have never really had a friend I could trust, and I seem to be shunned by everyone. Yet I am an attractive and outgoing person ( not the prettiest but not too bad either lol) so it boggles my mind that I have not been able to find one good person out there to actually be a real friend. I get the " oh we should hang out " thing ALL the time yet no follow through and it hurts... All in all, not feeling too good about stuff. I just needed to vent, in the hopes that maybe one of u can relate and offer me some comfort. Holidays get me thinking about everything. I know things could be worse but they sure as hell could be better.:18a:

Oh honey. I so know how you feel. I was with a guy for two, nearly three years, and the whole time we were together he said he didn't believe in marriage. He left me because he said I was too emo and possessive for him. Well, I just found out the other day that he's engaged to a girl who's the poster child for emo and possessive, and they haven't even been together a year! I too have a hard time making true friends. The longest friendship I ever had was about five years to my cousin. And that relationship has ended because I found out that she and that ex had been having an affair for months! But I have learned not to dwell on the things that have gone wrong. Trust me, that's a long enough list. It's a lot more time efficient and enjoyable to remember and celebrate our blessings and all the things that have gone right. Though if you ever need a person to vent to, I would be glad to listen. Lord knows we could all use a good b**** session every now and then.

"Too emo"???
I must be getting old, I don't understand the English language anymore! LOL!
If I understand Emo right and I am getting this from my 12 year old. It is 'emotional' sort of like the goth/punk look but not quite. I don't know. I am old too

"Emo" does stand for emotional. I tend to use it strictly for the really bad emotional types, like the stereotypical "oh woe is me, no one understands me, I'm going to cut myself" goth/punk types. I myself have never been a cutter. I agree that at the time he and I were together, I wasn't at the height of my mental health, but I was not emo. However, the girl he's going to marry has scars up and down her arms from past suicide attempts.
