I haven't been on here in quite some time, because we have been busy enrolling our youngest into a different school. Come to find, the majority of the problem(s) was my daughter's aide (if that's the appropriate title...).
Anyhow, there was a county school that I'd heard of and had always assumed it was for the most severely-low functioning children. Things at her old school were progressively getting worse (and worseR.....am making that a word now...lol). It got to the point where, as much as I was being put through by that school, I was starting to understand, more and more, how much my daughter was being put through. So, I thought I'd go and check out this new school. In less words, we are simply amazed. She started last week, and every morning I put her on the bus, (she gets to ride the bus now), I come in with moist eyes, just due to the fact that she is so happy to be going to her "new school". That's the major; the minor, I have only had to object to 1 thing thus far with the nurse......and the director stepped in and put the nurse to task, no problems! What an absolutely amazing difference!!
Now, given my son is still at the old school, and umm, has been given the same *ahem* aide, I suppose this will be my next mission. I have no doubt that this school is not going to be happy until he's out of there as well; however, I know there's a better alternative, and I'm going to find it. To some degree, I feel as if I'm giving up the fight for my child. However, I also feel that if I continue the fight, just to get my child what rights belong to him, I'm not convinced that he will be treated the same as everyone else. I'm already starting to sense that something is going on with him, since things have went to an uproar (once daughter was removed, they started raising issues about my son....interesting), as well as my son not being the happy, chipper young guy he truly can be!
I've also thought about homeschooling, as well as the state online schooling. I suppose one day soon, VERY soon, we'll know our resolve.
Sorry for rattling on. I have a feeling I'll go back and read this and see that the half can't even be understood.....lol. Perhaps I just need to start a blog, but for now, thanks for reading (even if it can't be understood)!! :kleenex:
Hugs to all!
