Cool a thread all about Dodger!!! He is pretty awesome! This forum would be so bland without his witty, and blunt remarks. Not to mention his kind support and helpful knowledge. :sign0021:

Watch out. You are spoiling the image he wants us to have, the cynical old guy. :sign0007::sign0020::happy065:

Great thread Holly! You are pretty darn awesome yourself!

What's going on here?!?!?
I go away for a day or so and this rubbish starts appearing!
All those responsible are hereby warned - I'm watching you! Any more of this nonsense and I'll have to :happy065:you!

On a more serious note: I think I have figured out why you guys like my attitude. It's mostly due to the way I grew up. Here in South Africa we are forced to be a lot tougher than you folks living in the US, CA, EU, etc.
The socio-economic conditions require a lot more self reliance - we do not have a comprehensive social service/welfare system here. Even simple things like having a school nurse is an extremely rare luxury. Government medical services provide only the barest necessities - and even then they manage to fuck it up more often than not.
Another example: I recently posted a question in a usenet group about specifications for making a house wheelchair friendly (its a long story, so I'll spare you the unnecessary details). Just about all the replies I got said things like, talk to you local housing service advisor, apply for a grant, phone the state office for disability services... blah blah blah... I had to pour cold water on the whole lot by explaining that no such services, offices, grants, etc. exist here.

The other part of my "attitude" that you guys & gals seem to like runs in the family. Example: my younger brother's favourite saying is "Life's too short to drink shit wine."

Ok thats enough with the cooties already - don't you people have anything more important to do?
Go play with your kids, if you don't have any, borrow some from relatives or neighbours.

Dodger,
The important thing about you here is you are freindly. Its nice to have a moderator thats active on the forum. To many forums i belong to you hardly hear from the mods apart from when they need to step in.

You come across as a nice aproacable guy with a kind heart whos also very knowledgeable.
