I'm going to the doctor tomorrow for pretty much a complete overhaul! Wish me luck! I haven't been in a while. I had a rebellious stage! :sign0007::6775:(Please no yelling at me! Lol). But I've gotten over it and decided to go count the damage. I'll post an update when I know anything.

Wow! Um everyone go to the doctor! I have issues! Nothing really, really serious, but it's good that I went. I'm signed up for a urodynamic study and I'm being put on a bowel program. Apparently I'm severely impacted. Joy! So I'll be going for that study soon. Yuck! Now I remember why I had the rebellious stage! Lol!

Hey good for you , you are much more braver ( is that a word 0) than I am . My gf keeps pestering me to see our dr. just for a general checkup to be safe an all . but I'm just chicken I keep putting it off . I feel fine but prevenative maintainence couldn't hurt I suppose . Its good to hear you got it done though .

I am finally breaking down and going to see a neurosurgeon. Actually the same man that sees my son also does adults so i already know him. I should have gone a long time ago.
I have these really bad headaches. I have no shunt or Chari malformation. The last time i saw a neuro was when i was 11 years old (wow that was 20 years ago) they were sure something was wrong because of the headaches but they didn't find anything. I have always had them but for the past several years they have gotten much worse. Now they are what i call sick headaches. They are so intense for a long time and then you throw up and they gone within a few seconds. They are getting more frequent so i am gonna get them checked out. I doubt it is SB related but if it is and i learn something new i will pass it on.

i have headaches too sometimes not for weeks or months and then sometimes everyday for a while and there's a time every year where the side of my head where my shunt is hurts but i went and got it checked out and they haven't found anything i think it's just the weather i don't think my shunt likes cold weather too much

So here's a side note on this doctor thing. I actually work in the clinic where I saw the doctor! Do you know how much fun it's going to be since all the nurses know me? Talk about losing modesty! I had a lady I see all the time explain a digital stimulation to me in detail today. It was quite uncomfortable! I just have to keep reminding myself that they are nurses at a spinal cord injury clinic, and they are used to all of this. Blah, whatever.

Oh my son had gone through something similar today. He had to go for his 6th grade physical. The doctor sat there asking him if he had hair here, and there, and talking about sex and safe sex all this stuff. The look on my son's face was priceless. I didn't know weather to giggle to myself or feel sorry for him.

Wow, Angel, I feel for your kid!
Did you really have to be there?
Couldn't you figure out some urgent errand to do while the boy is being given the third degree? You aught to know when Mommy should dissapear for a while - go shopping or whatever and collect him from the doctor later.

Dodger i totally agree with you!!! I tried to excuse myself and he didn't want me to leave. I told him i thought he might be more comfortable without me there but he was like "no just stay" I made small talk with the nurse to try and occupy myself and ignore. I respect his privacy!!
I have had all these talks with him before which is why i don't think he really felt the need for me to leave. He was just as uncomfortable when i talked to him about it but it is my job as his parent to make sure he has correct information.
He is so handsome he will be beating the chicks off with a stick in a few years lol i gotta make sure im not a grandma before i am 40!!
