My partner suffers greatly with back pain in this lovely British weather. I was just wondering if others have this and how do they manage it and is there anything others can do for you?

For those who are not in the UK for the last week or so we have been having temps over 28 degrees centigrade.

She cant exactly sit indoors in this weather, she works full time and we like to be social and go out places together. I dont know if it is relevent but her lesion is at T6.

OK, I have to laugh at you in jest here. That is 85 degrees F if I did the math correctly. I (and all of my family) were born in Arizona where right now it is an easy 115 degrees (so 46 degrees C), then we moved to Las Vegas where it is 110 degrees today and finally to Colorado where it is MUCH cooler at 87 degrees today. I feel like I am in HEAVEN.

But, I do know that any weather that is abnormal for you effects your body and is likely to have muscles tense up. :signs120:

I wish spring would hurry up already and push the temp over 25C/77F.
I HATE this cold weather!

I just went to arizona for conference and it was 117 degrees F and i LOVED IT!!! I could feel my flesh burning the minute the sun hit it lol. I love hot weather i am originally from the south where it is hot as hell to. I am used to it and prefer it to these cold northeast summers. People here don't think it is cold but i do. Lets not even mention winter time. Dodger i can agree i HATE cold weather. That is when my legs start swelling and the circulation problems begin for me. Never happend till i moved north where it really gets cold but in winter my legs will swell to twice their normal size!!

Speaking of backaches i get mine when i am nervous. I usually have no back pain at all that i didn't cause myself (moving furnature, picking up stuff way to heavy for me, walking till i am ready to pass out) When i get really anxious or nervous though my back aches like you wouldn't believe. Kinda freaky huh?

It's cold!!!!! I feel about cold, the way you do about heat :) It is all a matter of what you are used to.

But I also wonder about manuevering a chair in all that white stuff.

Barb i was in your shoes 5 years ago when i moved. I swear I didn't understand how human beings lived like this!!!!! I am really short so i am not exaggerating when i say the snow went up to my BUTT!!! My husband has had to litterally pick me up and carry me in the house if it snowed a lot while we were away from home (my son's spinal fusion was the time i am refering to)
You learn to adjust. I found ice tips for my crutches they are not the best but i do fall down less and let me emphasis less (i still bust my tail regularly) than i did without them. The chair not so bad espically if you are on the sidewalk i know that most people are pretty good about shoveling them.
