First of all i got pregnant on accident so that was a big thing for me to deal with im barely going turning 17 and im not here cause i want people to judge me because of that.... but i just found out yesterday that my baby has spina bifida which 3 of his spine bones at the very bottom of his spine by her butt... im not sure what it is yet so i wanted to know how bad this will be for her because the doctor toldme the higher up in the spine the worst...the doctor totally freaked me out by telling me all these different things and asked if abortion was an option but my family is very supportive and they are going to help me...i just wanted more information on this because i had never heard of it before

First of all welcome to the group. I am sure you are terrified right now but my advice to you would be look through the messages and find some information. Then just start asking questions. There is a very good group of people here and they have been there and done just about all of it. They will be happy to help you.
By the way i am angel. I am 31 years old and i have Spina Bifida Myleo. I have an 11 year old son, (who, by the way i had when i was 19 years old so i can relate with being a very young mom to.)
Feel free to ask anything we are all here to help

Welcome to the forum.
If you look through some of the threads here, you'll see that SB is an extremely variable condition. Once you know more about your baby's lesion it would be possible to very broadly predict what the consequences may be. Precision is unfortunately not a feature of in-utero diagnosis.
Please feel free to jump in on any topic and to start your own thread too if you like.

Hi lsanchez
Welcome to the Group! Our baby was diagnosed a few months as well so I understand your worry and concern. Since joining this site I have met some great people and got some very usefull information. The location seems to be low which is helpfull but as Dodger says the final prognosis can be pretty much all over the board. It seems most doctors talk in generalities in the beginning. I can tell you this. I have read many stories of people going through this as well a speople who have this condition and they are all doing well. Sure it's a challenge but we all have those right? Please feel free to ask me anything! rayers are with you...
