Hi, welcome.
So you've got occulta - please give us more details.

I turned 40 in November - its no big deal - actually a bit overrated LOL!
I have myelomeningocele at L1-2. It was kinda obvious right at birth. I'm essentailly paralysed below the waist.

You don't have to "go" for answers - the answers are here!
Well many of them are.
As for the answers that are not here - someone here will most likely know where to find them and bring them on board too.

So to get the answers you need, just bring your questions here.

Relax if you got this far not knowing you had it you will continue just fine now that you know. I have SB myleo (the most severe form) my son has Occulta but was diagnosed at birth.
I know it is a shock, and i can't imagine how upsetting it would be to find out later in life that you have it. But rest assured it is going to be ok!!!!!!

Were here for you with any questions you may have. This is a great group of people.

A fellow in New Castle, Pa. (east of Youngstown, OH and somewhat close to Pittsburgh as well) is 77 with sb and was only diagnosed a few years ago. I'm not sure his whole reaction to the diagnosis, but I would think, in part, it might be a relief. That is, if you have had some symptoms of something, but wasn't clear on what it was until the diagnosis. But, I don't know. I'm myelo, and so we knew right away there were severe issues.

All I can offer is to take every opportunity to learn about sb. I am 32 and at times I feel I am just beginning to learn. I grew up knowing many disabled kids, but not many of them spina bifida.
