I didn't know where to post this, but since it was a school issue and it really pissed me off, I figured the educational and emotional thread would be best.
Newport News is the school district I attended but thank God it wasn't this high school...I saw this on the news and the story is of a girl with SB that was being bullied and harassed by a group of girls to the point where the school switched her classes up to avoid them, but that didn't help. She brought a stun gun to school for protection and is being charged. It doesn't say much about her SB, she walks but with a severe limp that slows her down, what the hell kind of kids would want to jump her? I remember going to high school, I wasn't at all with the in crowd and like most kids I was teased, taunted and constantly brought down, not even a decade later school kids are adding violence to that! I do not want Madison in a public school AT ALL, nowai jose. Heres the wonderful article, anyone have thoughts? I know theres a post about kids with SB and school but I'm not interested in class placement as much as I am the bullying, read on ^.^

NEWPORT NEWS -- A few weeks before graduation, Denbigh High School senior Deidra Lennon is on suspension for 10 days, and the 18-year-old has a court date set for June 1.
Newport News police say Lennon had a stun gun with her Tuesday.
"I take responsibility for my actions. I know that I was wrong for what I did," says Lennon, "but, at the same time, what else was I supposed to do?"
The 18-year-old says she felt she needed the stun gun for protection. She had some trouble with a girl who lives in her neighborhood and some of that girl's friends. All of them attend Denbigh.
"I'm only one person. You got two and three people trying to jump on me. What am I supposed to do? I'm not gonna let nobody just beat me up," Lennon tells 13News. "I don't have time to be fighting. I'm in school, I have medical conditions. I have problems where I'm hurting every now and then, a lot, actually. I don't have time for nobody to be hurting on me, making my pain worse."
Lennon has Spina Bifida.
"Maybe she feels she can't defend herself, you know, like someone that didn't have a disability," offers Lennon's mother, Brenda.
"I didn't, actually, know that's what it was that she had," says Brenda Lennon, "because she had it inside a, like, cell phone case, so I really didn't know."
School administrators tried to address Lennon's concerns in a couple of ways, including moving her out of a class she shared with one of the girls. The 18-year-old says the threat continued, and she borrowed the stun gun from a friend. Lennon had it with her for about three weeks. Denbigh school security found the stun gun while looking for a teacher's cell phone that disappeared.
Newport News police say Lennon was issued a summons for possession of a weapon on school property and carrying a concealed weapon.
Lennon and her mother are supposed to meet with representatives of Newport News Public Schools to determine what happens after her suspension.
"I'm gonna graduate, regardless. If they don't let me back in school, they're still gonna let me walk across the stage, but I want to go back to school," Lennon explains.
"If I was her, I would just be glad to be graduating and getting out of there," says Brenda Lennon. "She will not have to see these kids again if she chooses not to."
Breaks my heart
