My name is Danielle and I'm almost 27 years old. I've been really depressed the past few years. I developed a bedsore and I've been bedridden for two years. I feel very alone and frustrated. I'm hoping that being here with people who understand me will help me to feel better.

I still live at home with my parents, but I lash out at them with my frustration so how can I expect them to listen to me when I push them away? I'm more frustrated with God and myself than anything, but they get the brunt of it. The past 25 years or so with Spina Bifida were nothing compared to this bedsore. I had little enough independence prior to developing it and what little bit I had is now gone and I hate it.
the nice thing about a mother, is a mother is always there. I understand about your lashing out at your parents, you have to put your frustrations somewhere! i AM SURE YOUR PARENTS ARE STILL THERE FOR YOU, JUST MAKE A MOVE TOWARDS THEm. you really are not alone! there is many members here just like you.

Sorry I've been MIA, but I started physical therapy 2x a week. I am hopefully going away this summer. Things are starting to look up for me. I will come in from time to time if anything changes in my status.
so glad you are doing better

I have one more pt session and I'm able to walk farther and stand longer than I have in the two years that I've struggled with the bedsore. Thanks for the support.

Yes its great to hear that you're getting up!
Have you got proper "anti pressure" seating for your wheelchair (assuming you do use a wheelchair)?
I have a Jay J2 Deep Contour seat from www.sunrisemedical.com (http://www.sunrisemedical.com) They have dealers/agents just about everywhere who can asses your needs and supply a suitable cushion.
It is expensive but absolutely worth every cent. (Cost almost as much as my custom fitted wheelchair) I have not even had any redness since I got the cushion! Before I used to get sores regularly.
(Disclaimer: I have no connection - financial or otherwise - with Sunrise Medical or any of their dealers or agents. I am just a very happy user of their product.)

Sorry for my absence. Dad has been dealing with some health issues as well as a friend of mine. That along with my health issues has put me in a rather deep depression. I'm hoping that my vacation to california next month will cheer me up.

I had a nice time seeing my girlfriend and her kids in California as well as the sights. Now back to reality and depression.
Glad to hear that you had a good trip :clap2:

Sorry that I've been MIA. I've been pretty depressed since returning from my trip. I think it's my reality smacking me in the face. Fantasy play time is over. I'm hoping to get out and enjoy the weather as soon as I can. It's been hard since I had my bedsore and was bedridden for two years. I have to get back to where I was before the bedsore.

I'm still here. I've been trying to get out and enjoy the weather before it gets to cold and wintery.
