someone sent me a book called children with spina bifida a parents guide, by marlene lukenhoff. i dont know if anyones read it, but, its awesome. they explain alot of things in it that ive seen alot of people asking about. it goes in to all this detail about surgeries, shunts, urology, etc. and it explains it so that you dont have to be a doctor to understand it. heres a link to it on amazon:

I have that book. Shriners hospital gave it to me last year. It really is a good book!!
