Matthew has been using a kaye walker with the cane tips on the back for the last few years. I decided that we should borrow the model with swivel wheels in the front and wheels in the back and what a HUGE difference! For the first time ever he can go 10-12 steps at a time! With the last walker he could only take 2 steps before he had to stop and move the walker ahead. I was almost in tears watching him go.... WOW! Yesterday he announced that he doesn't want to use his wheelchair at school anymore - he really likes this walker :) We will be ordering the model with the fold down seat so he can have a rest when he needs to.

Now if only new braces goes this well next month!

That's great! I wonder why someone didn't suggest the walker with wheels in the first place.

Well it all depends on how old Matthew is and what type of braces he uses. When I was in my RGOs, I had a similar walker. They said that the wheeled walkers wouldn't provide me with enough support with my kind of braces. And I gotta say I agreed with them. Then again, they didn't even want me using a walker. They wanted me to use forearm crutches. But that's a gripe for another day! Lisa, I'm so happy for you and Matthew.
