hey guys! Ok, so a while back, I posted that my Medicaid got cut and they put me on a spend down program for some stupid reason. I was basicly told there was no point in fighting it, so I left it alone. Well, now I need new AFOs because the ones I have right now are 12 years old and I've also lose over 50 pounds and they're too big now. I still have Medicare, so my question is this: Does anyone know if Medicare pays their typical 80% for AFOs or are the AFOs not a typical Medicare approved thing? I'd love to know before I go make an appointment to get new ones lol.
thanks guys!

I would call and ask the place you get them at. They would know better then anyone. I would assume they would also have to get approval before doing anything. I know with wheelchairs Medicare needs all kinds of documentation first, before the client is even looked at. So, that would be where to start.

thanks for the reply. So I called the place after I posted this message and they said I can come in and talk to them for free and get an estimate in person, just so they can figure everything out for sure because my AFOs are custom made to fit my legs. So, once I get a prescription from my doctor, 'm on my way. Thanks for the reply, again!
