Maybe a place called the brag spot or something to brag about all the great things we or our children are doing?

Are you sure you want to get me started? HEHEHE
I'm reposting this from another thread I replied to because the thread is old and closed.
my two cents...
Actually, when I found this forum I had been looking for years for a forum dedicated to SB. I have never found one that was active/and or really up and running well.
I found this site and I'm in heaven. I saw the adult tab and I made the assumption that it was a forum for adults with sB to talk to other adults with SB since there is only really 30 or so years worth (give or take) of adults with SB in the US. I have been hard pressed to find other SB adults to talk with about age /life related things with. Well we all know how the saying goes about assumptions right? Turns out it was a forum for mature topics more than a forum for adults to talk to other adults, I see that it is both to a certain extent but i REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY am pushing/praying/asking/begging for two seperate forum categories to be made. I agree with a previous poster, If I ask a question about an adult topic and want responses from other adults with sb and their partners, the thread gets highjacked by parents wanting to know the same thing or something similar and the focus shifts and I get left in the cold.
1. a category for parents of children with SB with a sub forum for teens with SB and their partners
Spina Bifida-Relationships Sex and Sexality
Sub forums:
Teens-to discuss dating/relationship/sex/sexuality questions (becuase relationships and questions of people in the teen years are valid, but very different than adult issues) you must be 13 or older to join maybe?
Parents of children with SB -this is where parents ask questions on behalf of their child/in regards to their child with sb's sexuality/sex/puberty/dating relationships etc.....
I think the second forum should be
Adults with SB-a place for 18 and older to ask questions/give responses to other people 18 and over.
Sub Forums could include:
Medical help
Relationships/sexuality/sex
products/equipment
Life (everything else)
Humor
politics
(the subforums could go on and on) but the most important one that must must must be included is relationships/sex/sexuality.
Those of us adults with SB and our partners would have an oppurtunity to post are qeustions/give help support/responses seperate from parents/underage kids with sb etc....
The same list of forums above is also my suggestions to add to as forum topics in general:
coping
Medical help
Relationships/sexuality/sex
products/equipment
Life (everything else)
Humor
Pain
Hospital stay stories and help/advice
"ask for/suggest good hospitals/docs med resources in your area?"

I'm of the opinion that too much subdividing isn't a good thing.
I suppose you have noticed that threads quite often branch off in different directions - sometimes almost completely unrelated to the original topic - excessive subdivision into umpteen sections with narrowly defined contents would inhibit such a natural development of conversations - such conversatiuons would have to split up with each part being forced into a separate box. It would dramatically increase the workload of the moderators and site admin.
There is substantial support for a adults with SB only section separate from a "general" adults section, it's just something our site admin hasn't got around to creating. We had a very comprehensive discussion of the issue after an unfortunate incident in the adults section when I made a poor moderation decision.
There is a teens section - you just can't see it because you're not registered for it. We also have one for children under 13 but it has no users yet.
